After a massive Day 1 rout, Rush ‘n’ Hackers cruised to an easy victory over Old School in the 12th Annual Myrtle Mayhem.
A new house in North Myrtle brought with it new dining and drinking options, new courses to play, and a bed for all. It was a worthwhile experiment, but feedback was mixed and it remains to be seen where Mayhem 2018 will call home.
Highlights from 2017 included:
- The revised Hybrid rules – with partners sharing a drive and then playing their own ball – was well-received by those who played it.
- Krempl won 28.5 points out of a possible 30.
- Paul managed to drive a tee shot for negative distance. The ball slammed into the ground in front of the tee and popped backwards.
- Dinora was voted “most spirited,” as he encouraged/demanded fun be had into the wee hours.
- Rush and Saint made a run at the Mayhem record, carding an impressive 70 in the hybrid format at Grande Dunes.
- Package’s “Mistakes were made” mantra summed up both a late night and some of the golf played by Old School.
- Vegas went 11-5 with his on-site match predictions. Read his Vegas Mayhem Preview emails here.
- Rush and Dinora won the cornhole tournament, beating Krempl and Sacks decisively in the finals.
- Morrall won point poker (5 fours).
