A close and competitive Mayhem once again came down to the final day. Drunken Grownups took 21 of the 27 available points on Tuesday to secure victory and win Mayhem 2022 by a score of 54-36.

After falling behind by 3 points after day 1, Team Drunken managed to win each of the next three days behind strong performances from Preede and Kelleher.

Highlights of the trip included:

  • Saint once again drove the ball -2 yards.
  • Moran boldly donned some short-shorts on Tuesday. He commented “It’s the fashion.” Mike responded “Not for men, though.”
  • Package expressed many interesting takes on food. Perhaps the most interesting is that he doesn’t eat food that has bones in it (chicken wings, bone-in steak). He said “we are not cavemen and we have people and machines that can remove the bones for us.
  • Rick drank a lot of Dirty Myrtles.
  • Mike and Alan won twice together (both sweeps) to run their doubles record to 11-4-1 all time.
  • Ken & Saint won as partners two days in a row, losing only one hole each day.
  • Dave drained a 12-foot birdie putt on 18 to win the overall on day 1. He and Reed birdied the last two holes to flip the match.
  • Package promoted The Daily Mayhem podcast and recorded some sessions onsite. He gave a podcast sticker to the bartender at Pizza Hyena. In view of Hardiman and Dinora, but not Package, she turned and in one motion threw it in the garbage.
  • Ken’s nightmare front-seat conversation with Talky Angelia (“My son got a non-elective vacation from school for getting in trouble and today he’s gonna pull weeds and tomorrow he’s gonna do engine work on a taxi cab engine that my ex husband had delivered into the yard… blah, blah, blah”)
  • Dinora REALLY wanted to go to the Marsh Walk.
  • Preede holed out from 153 for an eage on hole 3 at Kings North.
  • Kelleher & Dinora carded 7 birdies in their round at True Blue.
  • Package rolled in a 10 foot putt for birdie to win the back at Prestwick.
  • Tim & Package sang a little Foo Fighters.
  • Package & Evans may have taken the first Mayhem shots from water on 18 at True Blue. They chopped it out and saved par, but lost the back 9 by one.
  • Preede gifted everyone Mayhem ball markers.
  • Dwyer/Moran beat Evans/Package in the finals to take the cornhole championship.
  • Preede won the NCAA pool.
  • Reed won 4 Closest to the Pins.
  • Mike won the MVP and was the Points Champion.
  • The weather was great all 4 days.
