This time it was close, but the result was the same. For the second year in a row Rush ‘N’ Hackers are the champs of Myrtle Mayhem. The Hackers held off an improved Splash Brothers team with balanced contributions from up and down the lineup.
Highlights:
- A new house, back in Surfside, with a bed for each man. Nice decks, common areas and cornhole arena. Challenging bathroom situation and stairs that challenged your sobriety.
- Jay pranked Dave by telling him via text that the Walmart was too crowded so he and Krempl didn’t do the grocery shopping.
- Ken breaking his driver and getting it re-shafted and delivered in record time by a guy recommended by one of the van drivers.
- Mike tossing a cornhole bag into a tree at Sundown.
- Ken had recently gotten a haircut where there was confusion around his instructions. Steve commented that Ken had given up his hair for Lent.
- Moments after recounting to Mike that Prestwick was where, several years earlier, Rick had forgotten to put the basket under the range-ball dispenser causing balls to pour out and scatter, Alan did the same thing.
- It was the longest-lasting Mayhem ever, with Brian arriving Thursday night to get some practice in Friday morning and Package not arriving back home until the following Thursday due to a snowstorm and a delayed flight.
- Krempl and Reed each became two-time cornhole champions by emerging from the loser’s bracket and taking down defending champs Rush and Dinora twice in the final.
- Saint and Morrall shot a 4 under par (66) at Caledonia in their sweep of Ken and Jay.
- Package won point poker (straight flush).
- Vegas once again provided his pre-Mayhem prognostications.
