Riding a strong performance on Day 2, the Irish Par Bombs hold on to defeat Bringing Sacksy Back 48.5 – 41.5 in the 14th Annual Myrtle Mayhem.
Highlights:
- We went back to 12. We missed some folks this year but it feels like the right size. And the old house felt like home.
- For the first time ever, a live draft was held prior to the event to determine teams. Eight participants were onsite at Tim’s house as Dave and Ken picked teams.
- Aaron seemed ready when he showed up for the golf weekend with no golf shirts, no putter, no hat, and no golf balls.
- Pauly went into the woods with his golf towel and came out of the woods without it.
- Mike somehow managed to take two divots with one swing.
- McCann missed Monday’s round for a business meeting but flew back to play Tuesday.
- Poker returned
- James seemed to dub himself “The Pinseeker”
- Sacks and Kelleher each won Closest to the Pin for the first time ever. Mike went on to win three times this year.
- Reed, Saint, Morrall, and Preede won the Long Drive contests.
- Evans shot a 71 at Kings North in the “Missing Man” format.
- Aaron got up and down from a sand trap on 18 to earn him and Saint a push at World Tour.
- The coldest Mayhem round ever was played on Tuesday at Prestwick. Temperature at tee-time was 37 degrees and the first 5-6 holes were played in a steady mist.
- Saint and Evans convincingly won the Cornhole Tournament.
