
Day 1 Blowout Propels Moran & Co. to Win Over Age Against the Machine
Forced Carry had a huge lead after day 1, and built on it after day 2. They then held on to win 47-43, as Age Against the Machine’s furious comeback fell just short.
Event Highlights
- Sacks tasted victory for the first time in 10 Mayhem events.
- Dinora has now won a record 8 straight events.
- Package & Evans combined to shoot a Prestwick-record 70 on the final day.
- Moran went undefeated for the week, going 3-0-1. He and Reed made a record-breaking comeback on day 4 coming back from 5-down at the turn to push the match with Krempl/Preede. Moran made a great chip and Reed rolled in a 10-footer on 18 to seal the tie and secure the team win.
- Evans & Kelleher won together on day 2 to run their all-time record as partners to 12-4-1.
- Package’s granddaughter Penelope predicted the day 1 blowout by Forced Carry, correctly picking the winners in all 3 matches. Step aside Vegas.
- Dwyer negotiated a “half-off the house rent” discount due to some ongoing elevator repair work.
- McCann won 5 of the 8 Long Drive contests.
- Krempl & Preede came out of the losers bracket and beat Evans & Kelleher twice to take the Cornhole Championship.
- Evans won the NCAA pool.
- Moran was the MVP (23.5/30 possible points) and the Point Champion winner.
- The weather was chilly but rain-free.
