DrawShank Redemption came back from a day 1 deficit to win days 2 and 3, and then held off the Trophy Husbands to secure a 7-point victory in the 2024 Myrtle Mayhem

Trip highlights:

  • The new house was great with a bed for everyone and lots of space.
  • Aaron basically challenged everyone to fight him on night 1.
  • Tim showed up wearing a custom-made Trophy Husband sweatshirt.
  • Alan and Mark were taking a soak in the hot-tub. Mark had precariously placed his phone on the raised tub cover. Dave came by for a visit and pointed it out to Mark, who dismissed him and said it would be fine. After the soak, Alan went to put the cover back on and knocked Mark’s phone into the water. Dinora quickly fished it out and his initial reaction was “Don’t tell Dave!” (The phone survived).
  • We learned that Package uses “mouth tape” to aid his bedtime breathing. Steve walked into John’s room to borrow a lighter and saw the set-up. Steve would later say that only two things have scared him in his life: the miniseries Salem’s Lot and Package with mouth tape on.
  • Steve brought his Blackstone grill and he and Mark cooked smash-burgers.
  • Rick’s Nationals sweatshirt made yet another (final?) appearance.
  • Steve accidentally walked into the old house.
  • Aaron ran the cornhole tournament from a blank page in his car manual.
  • Reed won the NCAA pool (Evans came in last)
  • Saint & Dinora won the cornhole tournament, beating Moran & Dwyer in the finals.
  • Wednesday’s match saw our first-ever rain delay as a thunderstorm blew through TPC Myrtle. We were delayed about 30 minutes.
  • Moran won his fourth MVP (Most Match Points Accumulated) as he gained 22 of a possible 30 points. He became only the third MVP on a losing team (Monaghan in 2018 and Kelleher in 2009).
  • Krempl broke a six event Mayhem losing streak, and evened his record at 6-6.
  • Dave won his 13th Mayhem and is now two clear of Dinora and Moran with 11 each.
  • Reed/Moran tied the most holes won in a Scramble match with 11 vs. Dinora/Dwyer.
  • In two separate matches, Moran and his parters (Evans & Reed) ran off wins on 5 straight holes. Both times it was holes 13-17.
  • Dwyer and Reed faced off against each other every day (Reed 2 wins, Dave 1 win, and a tie)
  • “Parlay Penelope” went 2-0-1 in her Day 1 Prognostications.
